Cardcaptor Sakura Gets ‘New Project’!

In Kodansha’s March issue of Nakayoshi, it was revealed that CLAMP’s Cardcaptor Sakura is getting a brand new project to celebrate the manga’s 20th anniversary. There has been no word on what the project will be, but more information will be revealed soon. Alongside this news, a rebroadcast on NHK’s BS Premium of the Clow Card arc was announced and will begin airing on the 6th April.

Cardcaptor Sakura

Cardcaptor Sakura originally ran from May 1996 through June 2000 in Nakayoshi, compiled in 12 volumes from November 1996 through July 2000. In English, two editions were published by Tokyopop. Later on, Dark Horse Comics compiled the series in an omnibus format.

The anime adaptation, by Studio Madhouse, aired from April 1998 to March 2000, with films in both 1999 and 2000. Nelvana licensed the series and film for English release, and all 70 episodes were dubbed, as Cardcaptors. Most English-speaking territories aired the full run of the series; despite this, the American airings were heavily edited and condensed into 39 episodes. In the UK, the series aired on both Nickelodeon and CiTV.
