Death Note 2016’s Cast Revealed

Death Note 2016

The official website for the upcoming Death Note film has been updated and now contains photographs of the three main characters.

Death Note 2016 Cast

Sousuke Ikematsu – Masahiro Higashide – Masaki Suda

Sousuke Ikematsu, who played Higen in The Last Samurai, is set to star as Ryuuzaki, a world-famous detective that succeeds L. Tsukuru Mishima, an investigator hunting down the Death Notes, is played by Masahiro Higashide; he has recently played Hideo Shimada in Parasyte, which is coming to the UK this year. The final character announced is Yuugi Shion, a Kira-revering cyber-terrorist, played by Masaki Suda; he was a member of the live-action Assassination Classroom cast, playing Karma Akabane.

The film’s website also revealed that it’ll be released in Japan this Autumn. Touted as a “forbidden sequel” to the prior films, this new entry in the franchise will be directed by Shinsuke Sato (Gantz) and will shoot in overseas locations. The film is set in the present day, in which Light and L’s successors wage a war over the six Death Notes on Earth.
