Our Top 10  Hidden Gems

One Piece The Movie: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island

One Piece

It’s hard to really say anything under the One Piece banner could be called a hidden gem, but believe us movie 6 is definitely something that many have missed.
Directed by Mamoru Hosoda (Wolf Children), this movie is tonally very different and an absolute joy to watch.

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU

It might be easy to write off a few of the series on this hidden gem list based on first looks – we’ve even done it ourselves. But that would be a big mistake. SNAFU is one such series, it may look like your typical high school romantic comedy… but it’s so much more than that. Intelligently written, emotional and often, hilarious – this show shouldn’t be missed.

Golden Time

Golden Time

Golden Time is a truly wonderful series packed full of memorable characters. It’s romantic, charming and definitely a hidden gem among our releases!

Haikyu

Haikyu

Haikyu might be one of the most popular sports anime in recent years, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t use a little more exposure. Haikyu is fast paced, intense and also extremely funny. It has a brilliant cast of characters and even if you’re not a fan of sports, it’s still a really fun and enjoyable series.

Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet

Gargantia

Another sci-fi series from Production I.G and written by Gen Urobuchi? Yes please! Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet is brilliant, and if you’re a fan of sci-fi/mecha then you owe it to yourself to give this series a try.

Humanity Has Declined

Humanity Has Declined

Humanity Has Declined is the quintessential hidden gem – from the outside it looks all cutesy and nice, but inside it hides a deeper and darker secret. Give it a try and we’re sure you’ll be more than pleasantly surprised.

Parasyte – The Maxim –

Parasyte

If you’re looking for a horror/sci-fi fix with plenty of gore and awesome battles between alien parasites – then look no further than Parasyte – The Maxim –. Madhouse really kicked it out of the park with this series!

The Devil Is A Part-Timer

The Devil Is a Part-Timer

The Demon Lord Satan himself comes to the human world and ends up working for a fast food chain – how can this not be good? The Devil Is A Part-Timer is filled with endless laughs from start to finish.

Knights of Sidonia

Knights of Sidonia

Tsutomu Nihei’s amazing mecha/sci-fi series Knights of Sidonia is brought to life in this epic animated series by Polygon Pictures. Whether you like CG in your anime or not, there’s no denying that Knights of Sidonia looks fantastic and the CG really captures the very inhuman nature of the story.

Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions

Chunibyo

Kyoto Animation nailed it with this series!
Chunibyo is an extremely fun show about facing (or not facing) growing up, it also hides a surprisingly deep story beneath its cute visuals. With plenty of laughs and a great cast, we are sure you’ll love this one.
