Nisekoi: False Love Poll - Who's the Best Girl?

Tuesday 13th October 2015

Best girl, a subject even more hotly debated than the age-old sub vs dub argument. Everyone has their own particular favourite, but who is truly the best girl? This is a question perfect for Nisekoi, which has a selection of the very best ladies in romance anime. The Nisekoi fan community is great, but the question of who is the best girl always comes up.

So let's decide it once and for all!

Information on each of the girls:

Chitoge Kirisaki

Chitoge Kirisaki
The female lead of Nisekoi - Kirisaki is half American half Japanese and the daughter of the Beehive gangster’s leader. She pretends to be in a relationship with Raku to stop their two families going to war. Initially annoyed by Raku’s presence, she eventually comes to discover feelings for him. She is very popular and smart.

Kosaki Onodera

Kosaki Onodera
Onodera is Raku’s classmate and has been in love with him for a long time, although she has kept this a secret from him. She is a sweet and kind girl, but extremely shy and easily flustered. Her family run a traditional Japanese confectionary shop, which Raku sometimes helps out at. Sadly, when Onodera tries to cook solo her food turns out rather inedible.

Seishiro Tsugumi

Seishiro Tsugumi
Tsugumi is a hitwoman known as "Black Tiger” and was raised and trained by Claude of the Beehive Gangsters and sent to protect Kirisaki from Raku. Choosing to dress in male clothes she was immediately mistaken for a boy upon transferring in the same class as Kirisaki. She is Kirisaki’s childhood friend and although stubborn, gets rather flustered around Raku as her feelings for him grow.

Marika Tachibana

Marika Tachibana
Tachibana is the daughter of a police chief and immediately announces herself as Raku’s fiancée upon transferring into his class. Out of all the Nisekoi cast, Tachibana is easily the most vocal when it comes to expressing their love for Raku, even though Raku is in a relationship with Kirisaki, (albeit a false one). A lot of her personality and looks come from her trying to please Raku, but sometimes her rough side comes out, along with her Kyushu accent which she tries her best to hide.

Ruri Miyamoto

Ruri Miyamoto
Ruri is Onodera's best friend and actively goes about trying to get Onodera and Raku together though she doesn’t appear to have an interest in Raku herself.

Now cast your vote for Nisekoi’s best girl and let the rumble begin…..ahem we mean fun.

Magical Girls can be traced as far back as the 1960s, with the likes of Fujio Akatsuka’s Secret Akko-chan or Mitsuteru Yokoyama’s Sally the Witch – the first manga and anime, respectively, to dabble in the genre of girls gaining powers from a piece of jewellery or trinket of some kind. Hundreds more would join their ranks over the years, some merely using their powers for twee but ultimately everyday adventures, others transforming into battle-ready warrior women fighting for the safety of the entire planet. Ever since Naoko Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon exploded in popularity in 1992, the more superheroic approach has dominated the field.
