The Tokyo International Anime Fair and the Anime Contents Expo were two separate events, but last year they combined to create AnimeJapan
, one of the biggest, best and most jam-packed weekends of anime madness yet, and this year they are doing it all over again.
The event will take place at Tokyo Big Sight, a truly impressive venue that allocates two dedicated convention halls, meaning it’s not too cluttered and very easy to navigate. Whoever decided on the layout deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for the prevention of a significant amount of cosplay-sword related deaths.
With the event being so spacious, each and every booth is able to offer some insightful and tantalising visuals, including character cut-outs, concept art, trailers, projections, products, figures and interactive programs. All designed to get the hype up and whip the public into frenzy.
Of course it wouldn’t be a true anime event without each company selecting their loveliest male and female employees, providing them with a stack of flyers to hand out and putting them in costumes from series such as Sword Art Online
, Madoka Magica
and Blade and Soul
. A front line of charming, smoking hot PR. None of them mind posing for a photo either, excellent.
There are also some really exciting shows coming out this year and we can’t wait to see trailers and more announcements pouring out of the event. We are especially pumped to see The Heroic Legend of Arslan
, Triage X
, Punch Line
(pictured below), Knights of Sidonia: Battle for Planet Nine
and of course Digimon Adventure tri
AnimeJapan says this about the event: “By focusing on 'Everything about Anime,' and 'offering more opportunities to experience animation,' we aim to create an event that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and that contributes to the future of animation.”
AnimeJapan not only focuses on the Japanese anime fans; it also cares about the international fans too! If you’re visiting Tokyo next week, make sure you pick a ticket up for AnimeJapan 2015, you won’t regret it!
