Based on the manga of the same name, Katushiro Otomo’s AKIRA remains one of the most influential works in anime history and is listed as one of Empire Magazine’s 500 Greatest Movies of All Time. Its first UK screening was held in London at the ICA in 1989, and it has persevered as a cornerstone of cult film and cyberpunk culture since its initial release. This new 4K remaster, never before seen outside of Japan, shows the cult classic in its best ever light and is a must-see for anime and film fans alike.
