Top Five Digimon

With the DVD release of the fantastic Digimon: Digital Monsters here at last, it’s time for us to talk about the best Digimon. It would be too easy to include the DigiDestined’s Digimon so we’re not going to include them in this list and give ourselves a real challenge! So without further ado, here our are picks:

Leomon

Digimon Leomon
If you’ve seen Digimon, then Leomon is an unforgettable Digimon. Leomon is a heroic Digimon who wants to protect the digital world and has a strong sense of justice. He was also one of the DigiDestined’s first allies after their arrival in the Digital World. Proving to be a great help and participating in one of the most memorable fights in the series, Leomon was a card I was happy to have in my Digimon trading card game deck.

Wizardmon

Wizardmon
Wizardmon becomes a fast ally with his powerful magic in the DigiDestined’s fight against the vampiric Myotismon, and his relationship with Gatomon is lovely. As a child, Wizardmon was one of our all-time favourite Digimon and still is to this day.

MetalSeadramon

Metal Seadramon
MetalSeadramon is a badass. Not only is he the fastest underwater Digimon, but he’s also able to hold his own on the ground and in the sky. All of the DigiDestined have been bested in battle by him and he proves to be one of their most fiercest opponents. Blue Eyes White Dragon eat your heart out!

LadyDevimon

Lady Devimon
LadyDevimon is a servant to Piedmon, another terrific Digimon, and proves her ruthlessness quite clearly in a fight against Angewomon and Kabuterimon, although it’s mostly between the two female Digimon. Digimon: Digital Monsters has more than a few grand, intimidating villains that test the DigiDestined time and time again, and LadyDevimon is up there with the greatest of them.

Andromon

Metal Seadramon
Andromon is a pretty cool android Digimon that the DigiDestined run into not long before their fight with Piedmon, one of the strongest villains in the series. Andromon plays a vital role in helping them get to Piedmon and in their fight against him, helping the DigiDestined live to see another day. His design unsettled us a bit as children as he seems to have some exposed muscle underneath his android body, but his heart is as human as anybody’s!

Digimon: Digital Monsters Season 1 and Season 2 are both out now on DVD.

Do you feel that we left out any Digimon who deserved a space on this list? If so, please let us know via Facebook and Twitter.
